Hola Republica Dominicana:
A Dominican Cultural Festival and Benefit Concert
On Friday, September 20th,
SMCC is the host venue for the several cultural events comprising: Hola Republica
Dominicana: A Dominican Cultural Festival and Benefit Concert
The proceeds from the family-friendly film,
lecture and concert events will benefit scholarships for SMCC’s international
and multi-cultural students as well as healthcare providers in the Dominican
Republic.
To encourage participation by the SMCC
community, the Rotary Clubs organizing this festival have generously
reduced ticket prices to $10 for SMCC faculty/staff and $5 for their children older than
12. SMCC students with valid IDs, and all children 12 and under will be
admitted for FREE.
Discount tickets must be paid for in advance with cash or check. They are available at the following locations:
· Billing Office in the Campus Center
· McKernan Center
· President’s Office
· Midcoast Campus reception desk in Orion Hall

Uncle CeSIL's Monthly Meet Up
Uncle CeSIL is in the
house - the Captain’s House. Join The Center for Student Involvement and Leadership and fellow students on Tuesday,
October 1st, 12:30 – 2:00 p.m. in the Captain’s House for the
Inaugural Uncle CeSIL's Monthly Meet Up.
Uncle CeSIL's Monthly Meet Up is a casual social event to find
out what’s happening in the student activities community, meet involved people
on campus, network, and enjoy some tasty snacks.
Visit our new hub of
Student Activities– the Captain’s House, home of the Student Senate, The Beacon,
Phi Theta Kappa, the Veterans Club and meeting space for many of our school
clubs and organizations.

Southern Maine Community College Blood Drive
The Red Cross Bus is returning to the South Portland Campus
on Tuesday, October 1st and Wednesday October 2nd for the
Southern Maine Community College Blood Drive.
The bus will be here 10:00a.m. – 4:00p.m. each day.
Every three seconds someone needs blood.
60% of the US population is eligible to donate - only 5%
do on a yearly basis.
YOU can make a difference.

Student Activities and Events Calendar
Wondering what else is happening on campus? Check out the Student Activities and Events
Calendar on the Student Portal. Click on the “Students” tab, click the “Student
Life” tab (left navigation) and follow the link to the calendar. Student clubs
and organizations have been providing updated meeting days and times. It’s a
great time to find something new!
