2013 Fall Fitness Class Schedule
(September 3rd – December 13th)
All Classes meet at the HUB Gymnasium, South Portland Campus
Free w/SMCC ID
YOGA
Tuesday – 1-2pm
Wednesday - 4-5pm
Thursday – 12:30-1:30pm
Come recharge during your lunch break with an hour of Vinyasa yoga. This fun, dynamic class consists of flowing through a series of yoga poses to upbeat music while connecting your breath with each movement. It will include a balance of energetic, strengthening work as well as restorative poses. Build endurance, stamina, strength, and flexibility, while calming your mind! Beginners and all levels of experience welcome.
FITNESS
Monday/Wednesday/Friday – 12-12:30pm & 12:30-1pm (Half an Hour of Power on your Lunch Hour)
Looking to lose weight, get stronger and feel better but have minimal time to do it? Students and faculty can burn fat but not free time with this upbeat, half hour class taught by SMCC’s own nationally certified personal trainer, Mike Palmieri. Classes will be held in the Green Room located on the lower level of Hub Gymnasium. All fitness levels are welcome to attend.
Tuesday – 5-6pm (Fat Torch Cardio Blast)
Join nationally certified personal trainer Mike Palmieri to get your heart pumping with some of the best proven techniques in cardiovascular fitness, that doesn’t include long boring hours on the treadmill. Fat Torch Cardio Blast uses creative, innovative exercises to help shed pounds and build muscle. Class will be held in the Green Room located on the lower level of Hub Gymnasium. All fitness levels are welcome to attend.
Thursday – 5-6pm (Body Boot Camp)
Are you ready to get serious about getting in shape? Then Body Boot Camp is the class for you! This class utilizes numerous workout techniques designed to help increase strength, flexibility, physical ability and mental toughness. Join nationally certified trainer Mike Palmieri in the Green Room location on the lower level of Hub Gymnasium if you are ready to make serious changes in your fitness level. All fitness levels are welcome to attend.

On the 50th Anniversary
of the 1963 March on Washington and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr’s. “I Have a
Dream” speech, join Mainers who were there at the Lincoln Memorial in 1963 and
for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s
stirring “I Have a Dream” speech for a panel discussion of memories, reflections, and
challenges for the 21st Century. Re-live one of the iconic moments of the Civil Rights struggle
and reflect on its challenge for today.

includes:
• attorney Harold
Pachios, then the Congressional liason for the Peace Corps
• Hon. Gerald Talbot,
the first African-American elected to the Maine Legislature
• activist Larry Burris,
early member of the Portland NAACP
• Hon. Kim Matthews, a
teenage intern in DC in 1963
SMCC Instructor and Former
State rep. Herb Adams will serve as moderator with Q & A to follow. Memorabilia of the
march will be on display.
